Fresh Wave IAQ Deemed a Safer Choice by the EPA

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Safer Choice Program allows consumers and other commercial users to quickly identify and choose effective products that are safer for families and pets and help protect the environment.

This type of program is vital in a time where many manufacturers of cleaning products are now capitalizing on the “green” movement by marketing their products as being eco-friendly – when they may actually contain chemicals and be harmful for building occupants.

Thankfully, the EPA has deemed Fresh Wave® IAQ a safe solution for any indoor environment.

OMI Industries recently announced that its Fresh Wave® IAQ Gel and Liquid meet the safer product standards of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Safer Choice Program. This voluntary program works with manufacturers to develop safer chemical products that also meet high performance standards.

Fresh Wave IAQ eco-friendly odor management solutions are engineered from a proprietary blend of natural ingredients, including water and plant oils from lime, pine needles, aniseed, clove, and cedarwood. Devoid of masking agents and harsh chemicals, Fresh Wave IAQ products are safe and environmentally friendly to use in any commercial facility.

In addition, the science behind Fresh Wave IAQ has been tested, patented and proven to be effective by members of academia, as well as by third-party organizations such as American Foundrymen’s Society, German Foundry Institute and the Southern Petroleum Institute.

When you see the Safer Choice label on a product, it means that EPA’s scientific review team evaluated every ingredient for potential human health and environmental effects and allowed only the safest to be used. Safer Choice products do not contain known carcinogens, reproductive or developmental toxicants – and all components, including dyes and fragrances, are reviewed against Safer Choice criteria.

Safer Choice empowers manufacturers to meet health and environmental sustainability goals. Types of products that have earned the Safer Choice label include household cleaners, laundry detergents, dishwasher detergents, carpet cleaners, and car, RV and boat care products. As of 2015 over 2,250 products carry the Safer Choice label and the list of products and partners continues to grow.
