Now more than ever the flying the friendly skies is becoming more challenging and stressful. From being packed in like cattle to airline aisles getting smaller to growing baggage fees, there are too many reasons for bad travel experiences these days.

But one reason is rising to the top: fellow travelers.

According to the “Airplane Etiquette Study” from Expedia, today’s travelers are leaving their brains and etiquette at home when they board an airplane. The worst kinds of travelers are the seat-kickers and inattentive parents, according to Expedia.

However, one type of annoying traveler from the list caught our attention, which is the smelly seatmate. From body odors to flatulence to the person who feels the need to take off their shoes, airlines are rife with bad smells, and it seems to be getting worse and worse.

We often see news coverage about planes being diverted due to foul odors, which can cause major business headaches for airlines. However, passenger-related odors are just downright annoying, and can make any flight miserable for anyone.

Fortunately there are solutions for airlines, which include natural, commercial-grade odor eliminating products that are non-toxic and eco-friendly, and can make any foul-smelling airplane odor-free.

With passengers unable to escape odors in the tight confines of an airplane, airlines should consider the investment in a solution that makes the experience of travel a pleasure for everyone.

Because, let’s face it, the world is full of incredibly annoying people, who seem to gravitate en masse towards airplanes. Time to fight back … and of course, if all else fails, you can always share your experiences with the Passenger Shaming Instagram feed – one of our personal favorites.
