Odor Challenge
Global clothing retailer, GAP Inc., introduced a new store near a fish processing warehouse at Chelsea Piers in New York City. Customer traffic in the retail space was steady, but the clothing smelled like fish, causing loyal customers to return their recent purchases.
Solution
GAP, Inc. looked into a variety of solutions and eventually turned to Fresh Wave IAQ. We surveyed the space and determined that the odors from the fish processing warehouse were seeping through walls. Using three HVAC ventilation systems, Fresh Wave IAQ Air & Surface liquid was vaporized into each HVAC system and then distributed into the store and onto all the merchandise.
Results
Within less than a day, the fish odor was completely eliminated. Additionally, during the time of the application, the store remained open for business. Following the use of Fresh Wave IAQ, the fishy smells were permanently eliminated, customer returns slowed, and loyal consumers continued to shop at the store.
