Located in the heart of Las Vegas’ Sunset Strip, Treasure Island Hotel & Casino (TI) is a 3,000-guest room destination for travelers seeking contemporary style and a high-energy atmosphere. With ten restaurants, eight bars and lounges, and 95,000 square feet of live casino gaming, there is no shortage of entertainment options for all types of travelers.
While TI offers limited guest rooms and suites designated for smoking, there are travelers who smoke in a non-smoking room, which occasionally also includes cannabis use. As with many Las Vegas resorts, developing the right odor control plan is key for removing smoke odors and ensure the comfort and satisfaction of all guests.
Solution
To tackle these specific odor challenges, TI turned to the experts in odor elimination, Fresh Wave IAQ solutions. Fresh Wave IAQ eco-friendly odor management solutions are engineered from a proprietary blend of natural ingredients, including water and plant oils from lime, pine needles, aniseed, clove, and cedarwood, making it the perfect solution for hospitality settings.
TI tested the new Fresh Wave IAQ Smoke Away Air & Fabric Liquid, which was dispersed through DVS45 Vapor Phase Units. Designed to safely eliminate severe cannabis and tobacco smoke odors without the use of harsh chemicals, Smoke Away Air & Fabric Liquid is a new proprietary solution that is natural, non-toxic, biodegradable, and completely safe to use.
Without using masking odors with synthetic fragrance, this solution instantly bonds to and eliminates smoke odor molecules in the air, as well as those that have penetrated fabrics, carpeting, and other porous surfaces.
Results
This solution quickly and effectively eliminated the harshest cannabis and tobacco odors in an average of 30 minutes. After each test in various guest rooms, the Executive Housekeeper stated that the foul odors were non-existent in every instance.

Ten housekeeping staff members were asked to rate the level of smoke odor in test spaces on a scale of 0-10, 10 being most severe. Before the test, the average odor rating was 9.6 in each space. After using Smoke Away in the DVS45 unit for about 30 minutes in each space, every staff member rated the new odor levels at zero.
Based on the success of the product testing, TI plans on using Smoke Away Air & Fabric Liquid on an ongoing basis in all guest rooms, the casino and other common areas–with the ultimate goal of providing a safe and odor-free environment for travelers and staff.
